"I succumbed due to low score in interview," Sambyal said, who took to micro-blogging platform Twitter to share his UPSC journey which came to an end this year.
"10 years of hard work ended in ashes," the aspirant wrote as he shared his story on Twitter.
Sambyal revealed that he gave six attempts, out of which he failed three times in prelims and two times during mains.

— Rajat sambyal (@rajatsambyal_) 1653968641000As per the marksheet shared alongside the tweet, Sambyal scored 112 in paper 1, 84 marks in paper 2, 110 in paper 3, 87 in paper 4, 93 in paper 5, 169 in paper 6 and 138 in paper 7, taking his total of written to 793 marks.
Several people took to comment section of the tweet to send encouraging messages to Sambyal and applauded his dedication towards his dream.
Shruti Sharma, a history student, emerged as the topper of UPSC 2021 examination, while Ankita Agarwal and Gamini Singla secured the second and third rank respectively.
