In 2018, a ten-year-old invented an automatic mopping machine
Sometimes, the greatest inventions come from accidents. A 10-year-old had a brainwave when he accidentally spilt juice and was desperate to escape a scolding from his mother. That’s how Arman Gupta came up with the idea of a remote-controlled cleaning machine.

His mother supported the concept and learned that Somaiya Vidyavihar, a school in Mumbai's Vidyavihar area, has an incubation lab. Armaan received a membership from her, and since there was no one to bother him, the little wizard got to work.

As per a Better India report, Gupta's washing and mopping machine, simply called The Mopping Machine, simultaneously dries the surface. For upkeep, it contains detachable sponges. The apparatus is capable of both cleaning and drying the surface.

In an interview with YourStory in 2018, Armaan shared a glimpse into his daily habits.

Arman's regular day starts at 6 a.m. when he gets ready for school and ends at 3 p.m., and he goes to the incubation centre to work until 7 p.m. After returning home, he spends more than an hour and a half studying before going to bed at the latest at 9:30 p.m. In addition, he spends all of his weekends at the innovation centre.

Arman wants to get in touch with investors once he has a more sophisticated machine, but he is not at all worn out from all the labour he does.
