HiMirror Plus+
The evil queen had a magic mirror that never lied about true beauty, and while that piece of wizardry didn't work too well for Snow White, the folk behind the HiMirror Plus+ hope that their tech will do wonders for you.
It packs a proprietary 'Analysis Engine' that helps you assess your skin's conditions, including wrinkles, fine lines, dark circles, dark spots and pores so that you can target problem areas to achieve your beauty goals.
The "mirror" harnesses the power of Big Data via the internet to "collect analytics from all over the world on skin conditions and skincare products… to create custom-built skincare routines and skincare tips". Its 'skin history' tracking system lets you view your daily progress and then compares them with those from the previous months, allowing you to see which routines and tips work for you.
Up to six people can use the mirror at home, and its camera can only be activated with individual passwords for added security. But that's not all, the HiMirror Plus+ is equipped with LED lights that simulate five lighting conditions: sunset, outdoors on a sunny day, brightly-lit office, supermarket, and restaurant that will help users apply their makeup appropriately for the occasion. Vanity does come at a price, and this will set you back by $269.

Livall BH51
This high-tech cycling helmet sports a strip of red LEDs on the rear, coupled with sensors that detect motion to light up every time you brake or turn. Besides, it also pairs with a smartphone, using Bluetooth, to allow you to receive calls and listen to music. But don't worry, it uses boneconduction technology to transmit sound via micro-vibrations directly to your inner ear, while allowing you to pay attention to traffic sounds.
But don't saddle up your bicycles just yet. The BH51 will go on sale 'online' in November for around $150, which is probably about 50% more expensive than the bike you own.

La Table Kineti
This piece of furniture is a 42-inch tablet masquerading as a coffee table. It runs Windows 10, and packs in an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD storage, a single USB 3.0 port, and a 1920x1080 (Full HD) touchscreen with up to 12-point multitouch to allow the entire family to use it at the same time for gaming. You can, of course, also use the Kineti to stream its contents onto your TV, for video conferencing, and even control your home and connected devices via its interface.
The La table is fabricated out of tempered glass, steel and wood; also, its manufacturers boast that it's both, waterproof and unbreakable.
As a proof of concept for smart furniture the Kineti ticks all the right boxes. The only thing that dissuades us from such fancy technology is its lack of any foreseeable practical use, especially at its price tag of Euro 4,000.

Pawbo Munch
Do you feel bad about leaving your pet by itself while you're at work? You might want to look at the whimsical Pawbo Munch. The device is a 'smart' treatdispensing system that lets owners reward Tom or Spike with pet treats of varying amounts and sizes via a built-in slot.
To earn their snacks, cats and dogs need to be trained to match symbols on the device. The Munch also plays musical tunes thus mentally stimulating the animal while boosting well-being even when it is locked up alone at home. It can also be configured to dispense food via a remote control when you're in the vicinity, or through the Pawbo Life app on a smartphone. The second option, however, requires the Pawbo+ interactive pet camera that even lets you communicate with your cat or dog via 'video conferencing'.
The cam is already on sale internationally at $199, but Pawbo hasn't disclosed when the Munch will be available, or at what price.

Profi Care PC-HTH 3003
We'll forgive you for thinking this wearable is the top of a hazmat suit. It also has an ionising function that allows for better styling "thanks to its antistatic effect".

Ataraina Deodorant One
Bye-bye smelly feet. The Deodorant One comprises a pair of insoles that use what it calls "radical sheets" to destroy the bacteria 'slumming it' inside your shoes. The insoles slip all the way to the toe area, where the maximum amount of germs reside. The sheets use a small electric charge to generate ozone and sterilise those little vermin. The insoles are powered by four AA batteries and are rated to last up to two weeks when used for two hours every day.

Aurai Eye Massager
Here's a posh alternative to cotton swabs and rose-water relief for your peepers after the abuse they are put through by bingewatching shows, AR and VR content; as well as hours of smartphone and laptop use. The Aurai Eye Massager headset gently "propels" water into its eye mask from a bottle that is encased within a connected hand-held controller. The device has buttons to make the water hot/cold and pulsate as it passes over the eyes.
The resulting hot/cold compress is said to reduce dark circles and rejuvenate itchy, sore and puffy eyes. Aurai has not disclosed pricing and availability yet, so you will have to wait before you can set up an in-house spa.

Rio 60-Second Neck Toner
Say goodbye to top-angle selfies. The Rio Neck Toner promises to firm up double chins if you use it for as less as one minute daily. It employs 'Faradic' micro-currents on your neck and chin to stimulate nerve endings for muscle contraction. This technology, also known as Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS), was first developed in the 1970s to help astronauts reshape their muscles after returning from outer space.
It should be noted that the Rio Neck Toner works on saggy muscles; it can't dissolve fat. But it results in a firmer, jowl-free neck, and it can be yours for less than $100 via online stores. So if you want to bid adieu to strange duck-faced selfies – clicked even from lower angles – you might want to carry one of these in your purse or backpack.

Xenoma e-Skin
Xenoma's e-skin is a shirt monitor that measures body vitals including motion, breathing, pressure and temperature. It is made of a durable, machine-washable material, similar to a compression garment worn by athletes, and claims to be as comfortable as a "typical t-shirt". The garment that looks like something out of the sci-fi flick 'Tron' has 14 strategically-placed strain sensors that can detect when you bend, stretch and even twist joints. These readings are relayed to a 'centralised hub' that is placed on the shirt, over the zip and across the sternum. Data is then transmitted via Bluetooth to any device connected to it.
However, all plans of cosplay as Sam Flynn or Quorra will have to be put on hold for now. Currently, Xenoma is still working on multiple sizes for men and a separate line of e-skins for women. Also, as of now, the wearable is available only to developers to help them create practical applications around this garment. Theoretically, this means the e-skin could be used to communicate with a VR headset for gaming, help an app-based fitness coach to provide better personal training, or be used as an industrial safety and training aide.

Panasonic Movable Fridge
It has been a problem that has plagued man for decades: Should he get up from the couch to fetch another beer, or should he just stay to avoid missing the sports action on TV? Well, Panasonic unveiled a prototype mini refrigerator on wheels that navigates autonomously to wherever you are.
The device memorises the layout of your home, and can even 'see things' up to 15 centimetres ahead of it to avoid bumps. So all you have to do is command it with "Come to the living room", whenever you want another cold one. Panasonic says this device could be available "in five or six years"; we say, "take our money already".
