Working in Delhi? Your risk of getting fired from job is the highest

Delhi is followed by Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Pune has the lowest job loss risk. Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Chennai and Kolkata show moderate risk.

NEW DELHI: There are two key reasons for a company to fire an employee: The company's financial condition and the performance of the employee. But there can be a lot of other reasons too. For example, the place where you are located and the industry you are working in. There are cities that remain relatively shielded from a big trend and there are those that exhibit it more prominently.

You have more chances of getting fired from your job if you are working in Delhi than in any other Tier I city, reveals a TeamLease survey on job loss risk across nine cities-Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.

Economictimes.Com partnered with TeamLease to prepare a set of reports on the employment situation in the country. Delhi is followed by Bengaluru and Hyderabad on the job loss index. Pune has the lowest job loss risk. Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Chennai and Kolkata show moderate risk.

The job loss risk also varies from industry to industry. Those working in the industrial manufacturing & allied sectors have the highest chances of getting fired, followed by construction & real estate and BPO & IT-enabled services.

You should not worry about getting fired if you are working in healthcare or telecom. These two sectors ranks the lowest in the job loss risk index.

Other low-risk sectors are retail; banking, financial services & insurance; fast-moving consumer and durable goods; power & energy; and agriculture & agrochemicals.

Hospitality, automobile & allied industries, media & entertainment have moderate job loss risk.
