WNS begins training program for college students to improve employability
MUMBAI: WNS, a business process management company, said it had begun a program for college students to improve their employability.

The program will focus on tier 2 and tier 3 cities and aims to train 1000 students in the next six months. The program will be spread across 35 colleges in seven cities – Nashik, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Pune, Kaziranga, Chandigarh and Vizag.

The training program has an 80-hour curriculum spread over two months. WNS will also train students in English, Excel and Soft- Skills to students.

"From our experience, we realized students from tier 2 and tier 3 cities are not able to get through the employment selection process due to lack of English language communication skills and soft-skills. In this program, we are making sure that students undergo English and soft-skills training so that they don’t miss out on global career opportunities due to such shortcomings," Keshav R. Murugesh, Group CEO, WNS and Chairman, NASSCOM BPM Council, said in a statement.

The training program will be based on the Nasscom Qualification Packs – which were created by the industry body's sector skills council for various roles.
