Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi paid the highest salaries
During the last two quarters, hiring of temporary hands recorded a 25-30 % growth. This has fallen abruptly to 4-6 % in the third quarter. There was a 14% year-on-year growth in recruitment of temporary hands last year, but the sudden fall in Q3 numbers could bring down the average to 7.5%, said Rajesh AR, vice-president , temporary staffing, TeamLease Services. Among the cities, Mumbai , Bangalore and Delhi paid the highest salaries and have also seen the best salary appreciation (11.62% on an average).
Goa, Indore and Ahmedabad are among the worstpaying locations (4.27% on an average). IT/ITeS sector in Bangalore recorded healthy salary growth, followed by Mumbai. Employees working in manufacturing , retail, communication, energy, healthcare and pharma have received good compensation hikes this year, while in Delhi, the BFSI, consumer durables and FMCG sector employees received good hikes. The study is based on a comprehensive report of the skills and salary data of more than 75,000 temporary staff working across 264 different profiles, 13 industries and eight functional domains in India.
