NEW DELHI: IT company Oracle today said it has collaborated with state-owned telecom operator BSNL for the latter's vocational training programme for engineering students.

Last year, one lakh students across the country were trained through BSNL programmes, Oracle said in a statement issued here.

This is first time that BSNL has engaged with an external organisation and introduced new curriculum content to enable students' exposure to the latest technology trends relevant in the telecom industry.

"Our engagement with Oracle is an important initiative that will help supplement our efforts in building a skilled work force for the telecom sector in India," BSNL General Manager (Training) Neeraj Verma said.
