Online payments platform Razorpay hires MasterCard’s Arif Khan as chief innovation officer

Prior to joining the Bengaluru-based fintech company, Arif Khan was a senior business leader at Master-Card. Prior to MasterCard, he was a senior vice president at HDFC.

Bengaluru: Online payments platform Razorpay has brought on board MasterCard’s Arif Khan as its chief innovation officer. In his new role, Khan will be responsible for managing the innovation process inside the organisation by building strategies and identifying new business opportunities.

He is also expected to work closely with various banking and financial institutions to develop new technical capabilities.

Prior to joining the Bengaluru-based fintech company, he was a senior business leader at Master-Card. Prior to MasterCard, he was a senior vice president at HDFC.


“Fintech in India has shown how disruptive innovation can spearhead the market towards efficiency and growth. We will work with Arif to towards creating valuable and differentiated products in the payments space,” Harshil Mathur, co-founder of Razorpay, told ET.

The company is one of the first India-based startups to be supported by Y Combinator, a Silicon Valley incubator.
