MAIT, ComTIA sign MoU to create vendor-neutral platform

NEW DELHI: Manufacturers Association for Information Technology (MAIT) on Friday said it has signed an agreement with Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) to jointly create skilled and certified manpower for the IT industry in the country.

The electronic sector in India is likely to create employment opportunities for over 7 million people directly and one million indirectly by 2015, a MAIT statement said here.

The MoU between MAIT and CompTia would facilitate the creation of a vendor-neutral platform for assessing and benchmarking skills through standardised examinations accredited and accepted by the IT industry and vendors globally, it said.
