MUMBAI: Leaking confidential information of the company is a major concern of employees as it puts them at greater risk of losing their job, according to the latest survey on awareness of Internet security risks among employees by Websense Inc, a leading company in Web security and content protection.

The survey titled "State of Security India", was conducted across five Indian metros of Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad among employees of 450 large, medium and small organisations with internet access to gauge its impact at work and security risks it poses.

Almost 57 per cent employees felt leaking sensitive company information or infecting their company with malicious viruses puts them at greater risk of losing their job than not adhering to their organisation's internet policy (20 per cent), the company said in a release here.

Almost one-third employees (31 per cent) believe they would lose their job on viewing adult content at the workplace and 22 per cent said they would lose their job if found downloading unauthorised software.

On employees surfing behaviour, the survey said that 64 per cent of respondents admitted they were little fearful of the security dangers of the Web and hence surf only safe web sites.
