Leadership roles see 28% rise in women applicants: Report

MUMBAI: Around 28 per cent of applicants applying for senior positions with experience levels between 11-15 years in 2015 are women; as compared to 15.3 per cent in 2014 and 10 per cent in 2013, a survey conducted by online recruitment portal iimjobs.com has revealed.

This number is also significant in the 7-10 years and 15-plus years of experience levels. The maximum number of applications (15-plus years of experience) is for HR & industrial relations jobs, followed by sales & marketing; consulting and lastly, banking and finance.

This increasing number of applications clearly indicates that diversity in organisations, especially in leadership roles, is the need of the hour. “Recruiters are also now looking at hiring more women employees because they are realizing that increase in women’s representation in leadership positions has a real, tangible impact on an organisation’s financial and talent outcomes,” said Tarun Matta, Founder, iimjobs.
