MUMBAI: The final placement season for B schools for the batch 20120-12 was relatively upbeat despite concerns of slowdown in the economy and drop in corproate hiring. The number of campus jobs offered by top companies was higher than the number of students in each batch at leading institutes.

According to MBAUniverse.com, the ratio of Jobs per student at some B-schools like SPJIMR, Mumbai and IIM Ranchi, was as high as 1.5.

For a total of 156 students at SPJIMR, number of jobs offered at the campus was 257. Similarly at IIM Ranchi, Top companies offered a total of 65 jobs to the Batch of 43 students. At IIM Rohtak the ratio of Jobs per student was 1.25, and the same at XLRI, Jamshedpur was 1.2. The graduating batch of 119 students at Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education (SIMSREE), Mumbai also received a total of 152 offers at the campus.

Also while BFSI continues to dominate, IT/ITES sectors have emerged as the new favorites. major IT recruiters like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Microsoft, Google, HCL Technology continued to hire from the Top B-schools, new recruiters like Flipkart and many others visited Top B-schools to hire talent.
