Job description

MNCs and big pharmaceutical companies are constantly pursuing discoveries of new chemical entities and are looking at more innovative product development capabilities.

The purpose of the role is to track and review CRAMS project execution, provide business development support for technical/commercial queries and plan for resources like manpower, equipment and raw material.

The major roles and responsibilities include budgeting, project initiation and planning, project execution, key account management, capacity planning and people management.
Why the job is in demand

India has long been considered a strong player in pharmaceutical process development and manufacturing, through its track record of developing innovative formulations like generics and biosimilars for domestic as well as regulated international markets of US and Europe, says Kamal Karanth, managing director of Kelly Services. “Thus, MNC innovators are looking at strategic alliances and partnerships with Indian pharma companies to outsource their middle-to-late-stage developmental activities,” he says.

Large diversified Indian pharma companies as well as specialised CRAMS companies are partnering with MNC players to support them in active pharmaceutical ingredient development, clinical, formulation development and full-scale manufacturing.

Qualification & Experience

Pharmacy graduates/postgraduates, chemical engineers with MBA; 5-8 years’ experience in CRAMS programme management or business development for managers, 8-12 years for senior managers

Salary

Rs 8 - 14 lakh for Managers

Rs 12 - 16 lakh for Senior Managers
