Internship stipends at record high at Faculty of Management Studies

NEW DELHI: Internship offers at Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) have seen an average 8% increase in monthly stipend from last year, with the top package touching Rs 1.5 lakh, a record high for the Delhi-based institute. All 209 students who applied for placement, from a batch of 226, received internship offers with the average monthly stipend rising to Rs 78,122.

Ecommerce companies like Amazon, Uber and Cloudtail together offered 29 internship jobs, an 80% increase from a year ago. “This year, the average monthly stipend for female candidates was Rs 85,250 of the 119 companies that participated in the placement session,” said Kavita Singh, placement convener at FMS.

In the consultancy space, Accenture Strategy topped the list with seven offers. Among the other recruiters in the domain were AON Hewitt, Deloitte US IS&O, CEB, Cognizant and EY.

In general management, recruiters like Airtel, RIL, RPG &TAS took part. Companies from the banking, financial services and insurance space came with more than 46 offers.
