Intelligence Bureau hired over 7,000 personnel in last 5 years

NEW DELHI: More than 7,200 personnel were hired by the Intelligence Bureau during the last five years, Lok Sabha was informed today.

Minister of State for Home R P N Singh said since 2008-09 till 2012-13, the IB has hired 7,221 persons and 19,231 were trained by the organisation.

He said as on 2012, the total strength of manpower in IB was 18,429 personnel.

Singh said recruitment in IB is done on all-India basis, except at the level of security assistant/ executive, and no specific regional hiring is proposed.
