IIT Madras campus hiring at all-time high, 964 students get job offers

KOLKATA: Placements at IIT Madras campus touched an all-time high this year with 964 students, including 97 who bagged pre-placement offers, getting job offers. It is a 15% increase over 2017-18 when 834 students got placed, including through the PPO route.

The number of PPOs, too, increased this year to 136, compared with 114 in the preceding year. Microsoft, Qualcomm and Goldman Sachs were among those making offers. During 2018-19 campus placements, IIT Madras students received a total of 1,146 offers (including 136 PPOs) from 298 companies that had registered for placements.
