IIT Delhi registers 10% increase in placements till day 10

NEW DELHI: IIT Delhi has registered over 17% increase in post graduate (PG) placements and 10% increase in overall placements till day 10.
Placements have been robust this year across all streams with the overall hiring registering a 10% climb till day 10 compared to the previous year’s figures and are likely to go up further by the end of phase I, the institute stated in a press release.

“While the overall placements have been better than last year, recruitment trends of PG students is very encouraging for the future of engineering research in the country. I am hopeful that the overall percentage increase in the recruitment of both UG and PG students will improve further,” said Prof IN Kar, Professor-in-charge of Training and Placement at IIT Delhi.


Anishya Madan at the Training and Placement Unit of IIT Delhi maintains that, “We have recorded a good jump in the recruitment of students this year which is a positive sign.”

Few startups were also represented during the placements from day 1 itself. The phase 1 of the placements will continue till December 15. The phase 2 will commence from January 2018 at IIT Delhi.
