Despite a 50% increase in batch strength, the average CTC increased to Rs 16.5 lakh this time from last year’s average of Rs 16.2 lakh.

MUMBAI: Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay has completed final placements for the 2014-2016 batch with a top salary of Rs 27.5 lakh. Despite a 50% increase in batch strength, the average CTC increased to Rs 16.5 lakh this time from last year’s average of Rs 16.2 lakh.

The 117-strong batch bagged 100 offers in the final placements from 49 participating companies with a new high of 26 PPOs/PPIs being offered. Some 16 new recruiters including Google, Dell International, Cisco, Abbott and Hitachi Consulting participated in the process offering a diverse array of profiles from operations, consulting, analytics, finance and marketing.

BFSI majors including Goldman Sachs, Yes Bank, Nomura, PWC, Fidelity Investments, ICICI and Indus Valley offered roles in wholesale banking, retail banking, corporate banking, securities and corporate treasury while FMCG giants like Johnson & Johnson, Asian Paints, L’Oreal, Colgate-Palmolive, P&G and Nestle offered profiles in supply chain management, operations and sales & marketing domains. Consulting bigwigs including Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini, GEP & Hitachi Consulting had roles in strategy and operations consulting, procurement consulting and technology consulting up for grabs.

From the manufacturing sector, companies such as Cummins, Tata Motors, HP Inc, Jindal Steel and Power and National Instruments recruited for a host of profiles in operations, systems and vendor management while IT/ITES saw Google, Dell, Cisco, Capgemini, CitiusTech, Infosys and Wipro hiring students for IT consulting, data analytics and security solutions to name a few. Abbott, Piramal, Glenmark and Cochlear offered profiles in supply chain management, operations, sales and marketing.
