A placement session usually lasts for five days. "The placement session this year is expected to last a little longer," placement committee head at IIM-A Prof Saral Mukherjee told reporters.
He, however, would not tell how long the institute will keep the placement window open or how many students are waiting for offers.
A source said: "Slot zero of current year final placements got underway at IIM-A on February 25, whereas it got started on March 6 last year and the students got placements with domestic and international firms within short span of five days."
But IIM-A Director Samir Barua dismissed any signifiance to the extension, saying: "In routine course every year placements are held even after the five day schedule, its nothing new."
