Government extends tenure of B L Bagra

KOLKATA: The government has extended the tenure of B L Bagra, chairman-cum-managing director of National Aluminium Company till Decmber 2011. Mr Bagra, who joined Nalco as director (finance) in 2007, was given additional charge as CMD in February this year. Since then, Mr Bagra has been instrumental in creating a 20-year vision for Nalco and a long-term corporate plan. He has also successfully initiated the company's greenfield projects and brownfield projects. Prior to joining Nalco, he was with RITES as director (finance), where he was credited with developing the privatization and concession division and in putting up joint ventures and developing railway systems in Colombia, Mozambique and Tanzania.
