Five Rs 1 crore-plus offers on Day 1 of IIT Kharagpur final placements

IIT Kharagpur started the first day of final placements with 5 students bagging Rs 1 crore-plus offers. About 30 companies participated on Day 1 which is 25% more than last year and included 76 profiles from core, software, analytics, finance and consulting.

There is a 50% increase in international offers, said a press release from the career development centre at IIT Kgp.

With 7% increase in number of PPOs and almost three times increase in public sector offers, the total number of offers towards the end of the first day is about 450 which includes PPOs. Few more offers are expected to close the day. This is showing an increasing trend compared to last year.


The top three recruiters on day one so far are Microsoft and Goldman Sachs with 24 and 14 respectively.

"We feel that the placement trends are very promising and we expect the overall season to be very fruitful, " said GP Raja Sekhar, chairperson, CDC in a statement.
