Firstsource to hire over 500 people for its Hubli center

MUMBAI: Business Process Outsourcing company Firstsource Solutions today said it plans to hire over 500 customer service associates at its Hubli centre to service the customers of two telecom service providers.

"Hubli has a strong education system and multilingual talent in abundance which should be leveraged to deliver high quality work for the clients," Sanjay Venkataraman, executive vice-president and Head of Asia Business Unit, Firstsource Solutions said in a statement.

"This is not just an employment opportunity for people but will also expose the employees to cutting edge training methodologies and global best practices," he added.

Firstsource plans to hire fresh graduates or undergraduates with work experience who are well versed in English, Hindi and Kannada in two to three months period, the statement said.

With this planned expansion, Firstsource's employee count in Hubli will exceed 700 and in India will surpass 20,000.

The company is looking for expanding its base in smaller towns and cities.

"We are committed to contribute to the growth of smaller cities by expanding our reach in the country and generating employment across," Venkataraman said.

Firstsource derives more than 10 per cent of its total revenues from its Asia Business Unit which caters to the domestic business, the statement mentioned.

The company has established centres in metros namely Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai and in non-metros which include Bangalore, Indore, Bhopal, Jallandhar, Siliguri, Bhubaneshwar, Vijaywada, Trichy, Coimbatore, Kochi, Hubli and Pondicherry.
