WBSSC releases provisional answer keys for Group C, D exams; check details

The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has issued the provisional answer keys for the Group C and Group D recruitment examinations, offering candidates an early opportunity to evaluate their performance. Applicants who appeared for the tests can now access and download the answer keys from the commission’s official website.

The answer keys were published on April 2, 2026, and cover all question paper sets. By matching their responses with the officially provided answers, candidates can estimate their probable scores ahead of the final result announcement.

Group D Exam Highlights


The Group D examination was conducted on March 8, 2026, as part of a recruitment drive to fill 5,489 vacancies. The provisional answer keys for Series A, B, C, and D have been released in PDF format.

The evaluation pattern remains simple: one mark is awarded for each correct answer, while no marks are deducted for incorrect responses. The total score for the exam is 40. For instance, a candidate attempting 35 questions and getting 30 correct would receive a score of 30, since there is no negative marking.

Objection Process Underway

As these are provisional answer keys, candidates have the option to challenge any discrepancies they may notice. The objection window is open for the entire month of April 2026. Instructions regarding the submission of objections are available on the official website. WBSSC has maintained that this process helps ensure fairness and transparency in the evaluation.

Group C Exam Details

The answer key for the Group C examination, held on March 1, 2026, has also been released. This recruitment aims to fill 723 posts. Candidates can download the answer keys for all sets from the website.

The commission has also clarified that question number 31 in the Group C paper has been cancelled after being found incorrect. Like Group D, the marking scheme here awards one mark per correct answer, with no penalty for wrong attempts.
