The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on Friday announced that the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) Preliminary Exam-2024 will be held on December 22 in two shifts.
Giving this information, UPPSC Secretary Ashok Kumar said earlier the PCS Preliminary Examination was proposed for December 7 and December 8. Now it will be conducted on December 22 in two sessions -- in the first session from 9.30 am to 11.30 am and in the second session from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
Despite the announcement, 10-15 people are still sitting on dharna in front of the UPPSC office. The police said they will find out who these people are.
UPPSC PCS Prelims Exam 2024: Key Details
The original multi-shift exam format had been proposed due to logistical issues, including a shortage of examination centers to accommodate the large number of candidates.
The PCS prelims consist of two objective-type papers: General Studies Paper-I and CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) Paper-II, both of which are now scheduled to be held on the same day, with a total duration of four hours. These papers are critical in determining eligibility for the subsequent stages of the selection process.
This change is not the first adjustment to the PCS exam schedule in 2024. The exam had already been postponed twice due to administrative issues. Initially set for March 17, it was first rescheduled to October 27 and later delayed again, with these changes coming in the wake of concerns over paper leaks and the cancellation of other recruitment exams in the state.
