CUET UG 2025: Applications now open, exam schedule, important dates, and other details inside

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate admissions will take place from May 8 to June 1, 2025, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Saturday. However, officials noted that these dates are tentative, and a detailed schedule will be shared later.

When Can You Apply?

Students can start applying for CUET-UG from March 1, and the application window will remain open until March 22.

Exam Details

The CUET-UG will be conducted in 13 languages:

English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

The exam was first introduced in 2022 to standardise university admissions across central, state, and some private universities. Instead of multiple entrance exams, CUET-UG provides a single assessment based on:

• Language skills
• Domain-specific subjects
• General aptitude

This aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which promotes equal opportunities and inclusivity.

How Many Students Registered Last Year?

In 2024, around 13.47 lakh (1.347 million) candidates registered, a slight drop from 14.99 lakh (1.499 million) in 2023. The exam was conducted in a hybrid format (both online and offline) from May 15 to 29.

Among the test-takers:

• 7.17 lakh were male
• 6.30 lakh were female
• Seven identified as transgender
