More than 6.68 lakh students who appeared for the second board examination are eagerly awaiting their scorecards. The CBSE Class 10 second board exams were conducted from May 15 to May 21, 2026, under the board's newly introduced two-exam system. The initiative allows students to improve their scores by appearing for a second examination, with the higher marks obtained in either attempt being considered for the final result.

CBSE Class 10 Second Board Result 2026: Likely Date and Time

While CBSE has not officially confirmed the result date, the Class 10 Phase 2 results are expected to be declared by the end of June or in the first week of July 2026. The board is currently releasing Class 12 re-evaluation results in phases, and the Class 10 second board results are likely to follow shortly.


According to CBSE data, more than 6.68 lakh students reportedly appeared for the Class 10 second board examination this year. Science emerged as the most popular subject, followed by Mathematics and Social Science. A significant number of students also opted for regional and foreign language papers.

Apart from students seeking score improvement, around 85,285 candidates registered for compartment examinations, while nearly 57,914 students enrolled for both improvement and compartment exams.

Passing Marks for CBSE Class 10

To pass the examination, students must secure at least 33% marks in each subject. For theory papers carrying 80 marks, students need a minimum of 27 marks, along with the required internal assessment score.

The 2026 academic session marks the implementation of CBSE's new two-board-exam format for Class 10 students. Under this system, students who are dissatisfied with their first board exam performance can appear for a second examination to improve their scores. The board considers the best score from both attempts while preparing the final result.

Previous Years' Supplementary Exam Performance

In 2025, 67,620 out of 1,38,898 students cleared the supplementary examination, resulting in a pass percentage of 48.68%.

In 2024, the pass percentage stood at 29.78%, with 37,957 students passing out of 1,27,473 candidates.

In 2023, 60,551 students cleared the supplementary examination from a total of 1,27,622 candidates, recording a pass percentage of 47.40%.

The data highlights a significant improvement in student performance between 2024 and 2025.
