Despite sluggish markets, job outlook remains positive: TeamLease

BANGALORE: Sluggish markets notwithstanding, most of the business have decided to hire, according to staffing firm TeamLease Services Employment Outlook Report for the quarter October - December 2012. A boost has been noticed in the FMCG, healthcare and retail sectors.

Festive season in the last few months of the year could provide an uptick in hiring sentiments and study also showed that there will be a surge in entry and junior hiring but not campus placements.

"While the previous quarter witnessed non-uniformity in the employment outlook, the current quarter seems to provide a slightly different view. Business optimism has surely lost some of its sheen, but hiring has not reduced significantly," said Sangeeta Lala, Senior Vice-President & Co-Founder, TeamLease Services.

The study also showed that IT industry saw a decline in attrition and increase in hiring, with addition to sales force for 'demand generation and to defend falling pricelines.'
