Campus hiring gets more zing

The optimism in the economy is reflecting in the feel-good sentiment across campuses, the fourth edition of the Aon Hewitt campus hire study has revealed. Companies are hiring more, offering bigger and smarter pay packages while HR and reward professionals are adding new elements to their total rewards framework to attract and retain top talent.

“The campus hiring story is seeing a huge upswing as compared to last year,” says Lalit Gurnani, senior consultant, Aon Hewitt. “The other strong trend is that, besides job rotation opportunities, companies are also focusing on leadership development to create a pipeline for the future.”

Over 200 organisations — 50% more than last year — across industries such as IT, ITeS, FMCG, FMCD, telecom, hospitality, financial institutions, manufacturing and life sciences, participated in this survey conducted during December 2014 and January 2015.
