CA to hire 1,000 professionals in India for R&D
The company had in 2007 announced an investment plan of $30 million to set up an R&D facility in Hyderabad.

NEW DELHI: US-based IT management software solutions company CA Inc will hire 1,000 professionals in India for its R&D centre in Hyderabad over the next 3-5 years.
"CA India will employ an additional 1,000 people for its R&D centre, taking the total strength to 2,600 over the next 3-5 years," CA spokesperson for Asia Pacific and Japan Gavin Selkirk told reporters here.
He said the company had earlier announced an additional investment of $30 million for the expansion, which would be completed over the next 18 months, he added.
The company had in 2007 announced an investment plan of $30 million to set up an R&D facility in Hyderabad.
Selkirk said the Hyderabad facility currently houses about 30 per cent of the company's global R&D headcount and India is also one of CA's fastest-growing areas.
Bullish on the Indian market, Selkirk said that the company would focus on service provisioning as well as e-governance projects.
Asked about the projects the company plans to bid for, Selkirk declined to comment but added that it has identified these areas as growth opportunities and would also make appointments for catering to these segments in the next few weeks.
The company, bullish on the Asia Pacific (APAC), expects the contribution of the region to global revenues to increase over the next 3-5 years.
"Currently the APAC and Japan markets contribute 11-12 per cent of the global revenues and going ahead, in the next 3-5 years, we expect it to go up to 15 per cent," Selkirk said.
The company appointed Saurabh Srivastava as Chairman of its India operations earlier this month.
CA has offices in Mumbai, Bangalore and New Delhi and an R&D facility in Hyderabad.
