CA on course for 20% headcount hike

IT management software major CA has launched new products in the virtualisation domain, and is on course to mark a 20% hike in headcount in its India operations by the end of this fiscal.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: IT management software major CA has launched new products in the virtualisation domain, and is on course to mark a 20% hike in headcount in its India operations by the end of this fiscal.

CA India managing director Amit Chatterjee told ET that among the range of products the company had launched in the virtualisation space was the spectrum service assurance, which promised better IT service quality and predictability by pinpointing the root cause of quality problems and lead to better trouble-shooting.

He said the product offered a “single pane of glass” to display the impact of the physical and virtual IT infrastructure on the services it supported, thereby providing a single-point monitoring facility.

Mr Chatterjee said virtualisation would be the underpinning technology for cloud computing and that CA was offering the auto-provisioning feature, adding that private cloud computing was taking off in a significant manner.

CA has also rolled out solutions for better security that have improved integration and process automation, and allowing companies to secure their IT environment in a better and cost-effective manner.

He said telecom and the BFSI sectors were being given special focus by the company with two senior executives joining the company in these verticals. CA India is now present in the government, telecom, BFSI, IT/ITES and defence verticals.

In the e-governance domain the company sees good prospects, considering the large applications roll out in programmes like the National e-Governance Programme, the State Wide Area Network and the Mission Mode programme, all of which would require governing, managing and securing the IT applications.
