C M Bachchawat is the new industry secretary

KOLKATA: The West Bengal government has made changes in key official positions in the industry department.

Food processing secretary and former finance secretary C M Bachchawat has been appointed as the industry secretary, state government sources told . He replaces Alapan Bandopadhyay who will remain as principal secretary with the municipal affairs department.

Nandini Chakrabarty, managing director of WBIDC, the investment promotion arm of the state government, has been replaced by Krishna Gupta, currently the chairman of West Bengal Power Development Corporation. Chakrabarty would continue as principal secretary with the information and cultural affairs department.
