BTechs and MBAs in UP line up for sweepers’ jobs

Sources claimed the recruitment may be further delayed if there is a change in government after the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. The aspiring sweepers are competing for 119 vacancies in Allahabad and around 100 in every district across the state. The minimum qualification for the job is reading and writing abilities in Hindi. Despite this, a large number of highly qualified youth have applied for the job.
AMC is calling 250 candidates daily. Additional municipal commissioner O P Srivastava told TOIa large number of unemployed, highly qualified youngsters have applied for the job. The number of applicants has increased to 1.10 lakh. A minimum of 408 working days, or around two years, are required to complete the practical examination process.
