AIMF seeks special recruitment drive for minorities

The All India Minorities Front (AIMF) on Saturday sought a special recruitment drive for minorities in the 90 districts, which have been declared as minority dominated.

NEW DELHI: The All India Minorities Front (AIMF) on Saturday sought a special recruitment drive for minorities in the 90 districts, which have been declared as minority dominated.

"There is an urgent need to undertake special recruitment drives in these areas so that a large number of members of the minority communities can benefit," AIMF said in a memorandum submitted to Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil.

Front president S M Asif also voiced it claim that members of the community were being harassed, tortured, illegally detained by the police.

"The government should also ensure that in every police post or station, there should be members of minority communities in all capacities including officials to ensure justice to the community members," Asif said in a memorandum according to the statement.
