Agri grads in Rajasthan get plum job offers

JAIPUR: It’s raining jobs for agri business professionals in Rajasthan. Top hirers, including Olam International, Yes Bank, Axis Bank, Future’s Group, Pfizer and ICICI have lined up at agri business management institutes National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (NIAM), Jaipur and Institute of Agri Business Management (IABM), Bikaner to hire professionals at attractive packages. “We have 100% placement this year with an average package of Rs 5.86 lakh. Among 23 recruiters this year, Yes Bank offered the highest package of 10 lakh per annum to our students,” says NIAM director Kamal Mathur told ET.

Agri business graduates of Bikaner-based institute IABM too landed good offers.“Olam has picked one of our students at a package of Rs 11 lakh per annum for its operations in Mozambique. The average package offered this year is around 4.5 lakh per annum,” says Madhu Sharma of IABM.

The packages are poised to be even more attractive in the coming years as lot many companies are entering in agri business,”

The compensation level has gone up by 30% as compared with last year when the highest offering was Rs 8.44 lakh per annum, adds NIAM deputy director Hema Yadav.
