6-month maternity leave a boon: Working mothers

TimesJobs survey of 1,200 women professionals, conducted in the aftermath of the Rajya Sabha clearing the proposed amendments to the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961, has revealed that 90% working women who are not mothers are willing to work post-delivery. Among working mothers who participated in the survey, 70% said they always wanted to get back to work post delivery. A majority of both groups look at the amendments — paving way for six months of maternity leave for all working women in organised sector in the country — as a boon.
