14,000 vacancies in Prasar Bharati: Ambika Soni

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There are as many as 14,000 vacancies in Prasar Bharati, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said here Wednesday.

"Of these vacancies, 3,500 will be filled up this year," she told reporters.

On the government framing guidelines for the online media, she said Human Resource Development, Communications and Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal was going through various meetings with the stake holders.

"He is having discussions with an eminent panel of people from this field to frame the required laws," she said.

Soni was addressing a press conference with Home Minister P Chidambaram and Minister for Law and Justice and Minority Affairs Salman Khurshid here.
