1.62 lakh vacancies in Railways: Velu

VELLORE: Union minister of state for Railways, R Velu has said that there were 1.62 lakh vacancies in different sections of the department.
Speaking at a function organised to distribute 'unemployment doles' to the youth in the district yesterday, Velu asked the young people to get technical training with the financial assistance provided by the state government and seek employment in the Railways.
Giving away the doles to 836 youths, state PWD minister Durai Murugan said that the assistance was provided to help them recieve some training, making them employable.
Financial assistance to workers in the unorganised sector also was distributed at the function.
