Warehouse for prosthetics and other critical medical devices opens in Maharashtra

Celcius Logistics, in partnership with Ottobock India, on Thursday opened a warehouse of prosthetics and other critical medical devices in Maharashtra's Thane district.

The facility, located at Wagle Estate in Thane, spans 3,000 square feet and includes ambient storage, 110 slotted racks with over 700 bin locations, and a temperature-controlled area for sensitive medical materials, the companies said in a statement on Thursday.

The hub will support storage and distribution of more than 2,000 SKUs (stock keeping units) and cater to 24 clinics and over 200 independent partners.


Celcius Logistics, a domestic third-party logistics player, will manage end-to-end warehouse operations and transportation under a five-year contract with Ottobock India, the Indian arm of German prosthetics manufacturer Ottobock.

Celcius Logistics Founder and CEO Swarup Bose said the partnership would help build a "robust and responsive distribution ecosystem" for high-value medical products.

Ottobock India Managing Director Mats Frank said reliable supply chains were directly linked to patient outcomes and added that the partnership would strengthen nationwide delivery of prosthetic solutions.

The companies also plan to expand warehouse capacity by 25 per cent over the next year. PTI
