Transport Min meets officials of Madurai zone
Tamil Nadu State Transport Minister K N Nehru held review meeting with officials of Transport Corporation of the Madurai zone.
Talking to media, after the meeting, he said "as the Madurai zone controls the state transportation of Southern most districts, including Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Kannyakumari, which face severe financial crunch, the State Government has allotted Rs 50 crore for the improvements of this zone."
Out of the allotted fund, the Transport Corporation received Rs 10 crore as the first instalment, he said.
The government has also allocated Rs 5.25 crore to retrieve the 347 destrained buses in the Madurai zone.
