Ola cabs launches operation in Madurai

MADURAI: Ola Cab operators, who launched their service in this city today, claimed that they were ensuring safety of passengers by ensuring 100 per cent traceability through GPS devices which can help passengers to contact with their relatives in the locality.

Besides all the drivers are screened and were appointed only after police verification about their conduct, N Sadhanandhan, Head of Operations, told reporters here.

Ola, which had 60000 cabs across 50 cities in the country, would focus in the next one year on nurturing micro-enterpreneurship, he said.

He said the company had tied up with car manufacturers like Tata, Ford, Mahindra, Maruti and Nissan to help drivers buy cars from them at discounts upto Rs one lakh. Besides they had also tied up with financial institutions to ensure drivers were able to procure loans for buying their own cars easily.

The mobile application would show the availablilty of cabs in nearby location to the customer. On booking, customers get confirmation along with booking details like and driver's name, he said.
