NEW DELHI: Tyre manufacturer MRF has been rated as the most preferred brand for truck and bus tyres in terms of customer satisfaction followed by Ceat Ltd, global consultancy firm TNS on Tuesday said.

TNS, in its second report on domestic commercial vehicle tyre market -- TNS TruckTrac 2007 -- revealed that MRF not only tops the customer satisfaction index but has also been rated as the most often used tyre brand by commercial vehicle owners.

MRF was followed by Ceat in terms of customer satisfaction while Apollo was rated as the second most used tyre brand, TNS said in a statement.

It said the domestic commercial vehicle tyre market has grown exponentially in the last few years on the back of a robust commercial vehicle market.

The tyre industry has grown at a CAGR of 8 per cent in the last decade, TNS said, adding, while LCV tyres are leading the growth with about 15 per cent, the truck and bus tyres are registering a growth rate of about 7.8 per cent over the same period.

The consultancy firm said the growth in the domestic tyre market was mainly fuelled by OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) market.

TNS TruckTrak 2007 covered over 6,000 truck customers nationally for their sales and after-sales experience.

After-sales service has emerged as an area of concern for almost all manufacturers across vehicle categories. TNS said manufacturers need to improve their after-sales service process delivery to customers, as this may act as the key differentiator and may influence the customer final choice.
