India picks up six awards at Seatrade Event in Dubai
When the annual Seatrade Awards were presented in Dubai, SCI, country's largest shipping company walked away with three awards.
The awards were judged by a 12-strong panel of international judges, led by Rear Admiral Efthimios Mitropoulos, secretary general of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
The other Indian entities that won awards are: Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal for environment protection, General Insurance Corporation (GIC RE) for marine insurance and Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (India) got the ship manager award. The event also featured three special awards: Seatrade Young Person of the Year was awarded to Dr Priyath Bandu Wickrama, chairman, Sri Lanka Ports Authority.
Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, chairman, Abu Dhabi Ports Company and CEO, Masdar, was announced Seatrade Personality of The Year. Jorn Hinge, president and CEO, United Arab Shipping Company (SAG) was honoured with the Seatrade Lifetime Achievement Award.
