GMB signs Rs 1 lakh cr MoU for expansion and shipyard projects
For development of a greenfield port, it has signed an MoU worth Rs 5000 crore with Shapoorji Paloonji Co Ltd. The port will come up at Chhara in Jungadh district.
A total of 97 MoU were signed by GMB with various companies for handling bulk cargo, LNG, coal, crude oil and petrochemicals, development of greenfield port and for shipbuilding and repairing Yard complexes, officials said.
GMB signed Rs 8000 crore MoU with Adani HPPL Ltd for development of bulk and general cargo terminal at Hazira in Surat, while it has inked deal of Rs 7000 crore with GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd for new port facilities, maritime city and private coal terminal and LNG terminal at Okhamandal in Jamnagar district.
For development of a greenfield port, it has signed an MoU worth Rs 5000 crore with Shapoorji Paloonji Co Ltd. The port will come up at Chhara in Jungadh district with capacity to handle eight MMTPA of coal, according to officials.
GMB has also signed MoUs with several companies for shipyard and shipbuilding activities.
These companies include POL India Agencies Pvt Ltd, ABG Shipyards Ltd, MPSEZ, Shiva Shipbuilders Pvt Ltd, Good Earth Shipbuilding Pvt Ltd, Adani Petronet Ltd, and Dahej Offshore Infrastructure SEZ Ltd and MPSEZ among others.
