GIL inks equal JV with Norway's DOF

MUMBAI: GREATSHIP (India) (GIL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Great Eastern Shipping, on Monday, entered into an equal JV with DOF Subsea ASA of Norway.
The JV will focus on sub-sea project opportunities in the Indian subcontinent. Ravi Sheth, MD of Greatship (India) told.
The JV will be the first deepwater specialised company in the country and will work on offshore development in east coast. It will help Greatship to expertise in the field of offshore. The company will be functional in next four to six months.
Around 56% of the India���s total exploratory sedimentary basins lie in the offshore sector and only 19% of the total area is well explored, thus enabling huge potential for offshore service providers.
