GE Shipping orders two new vessels
GE Shipping says it has placed an order with Colombo Dockyard Ltd for two anchor handling tug cum supply vessels.
The company, however, did not provide any financial details of the deal.
The contract with the Colombo Dockyard has been signed by Greatship Global Offshore Services, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Netherlands-based Greatship Holdings BV, which in turn is an arm of Greatship India Ltd (GIL), GE Shipping said in a communique to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
GE Shipping's wholly owned subsidiary GIL is pursuing business opportunities in the offshore oil field services business.
The two vessels ordered with Colombo Dockyard are scheduled to be delivered during the fourth quarter of FY 2008-09 and the first quarter of FY 2009-10.
GE Shipping would invest about Rs 590 crore in GIL towards equity contribution. Of Rs 590 crore, Rs 305 crore has already been infused for equity subscription at a premium of Rs 90 per share.
This order brought the total new building order book of GIL and its subsidiaries at 10 offshore supply vessels to be delivered over the next two years.
The shares of GE Shipping were last trading 1.52 per cent up at Rs 341 on the BSE.
