Gati, European co enter for strategic partnership in India

Gati has entered into a strategic alliance with Amsterdam based General Logistics Systems, one of the three largest parcel service providers in Europe.

MUBAI: Gati has entered into a strategic alliance with Amsterdam based General Logistics Systems, one of the three largest parcel service providers in Europe.

The company will act as GLS' international strategic partner in India. It covers 594 out of 604 districts in India.

GLS will act as a strategic partner for Gati in Europe, providing easy access for Gati's customers and will enable Gati to penetrate and capture a significant market share in Europe.

GLS has reported revenue of euros 1.6 billion for FY 2006-07. GLS handles around 311 million parcels for 2,22,000 customers in 36 European states through 17800 vehicles and 32 transshipments point, 655 depots and 12000 employees.

At 1:16 pm, Gati shares were down 0.16 per cent at Rs 122.60 on BSE.
