Gateway Rail Freight Ltd to set up fourth inland container depot in Gujarat

The company said in a statement that the depot would be a terminal on the confluence of two routes between Garhi Harsaru and two other ports at Mundra and Pipavav.

NEW DELHI: Logistics player Gateway Distriparks today said its subsidiary Gateway Rail Freight Ltd will set up its fourth inland container depot at Viramgam near Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

"The company's subsidiary company -- Gateway Rail Freight Limited ( GRFL) -- is setting up its fourth Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Viramgam near Ahmedabad in Gujarat," Gateway Distriparks said in a BSE filing.

It further said: "This will be a terminal on the confluence of the two double stack routes between Garhi Harsaru in Gurgaon (Haryana) and two main ports on the west coast at Mundra and Pipavav in Gujarat."

Gateway Distriparks said the terminal with the railway siding and container yard will be constructed over 35 acres of land and is expected to be operational within a year.

All the necessary regulatory approvals from Western Railway for this purpose are in place, the company added.

Shares of Gateway Distriparks were trading at Rs 335 apiece, up 1.09 per cent from their previous close on the BSE.
