Essar Shipping CEO Captain Anoop Kumar Sharma takes over retired MD's duties

NEW DELHI: Essar Shipping's CEO and whole time director Capt. Anoop Kumar Sharma will report to the board directly after Managing Director Ramakrishnan A R retired March end, the company said in a statement.

Capt. Sharma, who became the CEO in 2014, took over Ramakrishnan A R duties after his retirement recently. He was earlier working under Ramakrishnan A R.

Essar Shipping also recently appointed S. Gayathri, as an Additional Director of the Company to fulfill regulatory requirement of having at least one woman director on board. She is the Senior Vice President and Tax Head for Essar Group.

Shares of the company were trading down 1% at Rs. 21.65 on Thursday afternoon on BSE.
