DTC invites bids for 2,500 low-floor buses

To augment the city transport system, the Delhi Transport Corporation today invited bids for supply of 2,500 low floor CNG propelled buses.

NEW DELHI: To augment the city transport system, the Delhi Transport Corporation today invited bids for supply of 2,500 low floor CNG propelled buses.

The bids for supplying 1,500 non-AC buses and 1,000 AC buses would be accepted till March 25, the DTC said in a tender notice.

The interested companies would be required to provide maintenance up to 7.50 lakh kms and give warranty for three years or 2.10 lakh kms, the notice said.

The CNG buses should also confirm to the BS-III (Euro-III) emission norms, it added.

The bidders, according to the DTC, should have an average annual turnover of 300 crore and present net worth of 600 crore.

The interested bidders, it said, could obtain the Request for Proposal document from the DTC office, it said.

The DTC has already introduced 55 low floor buses in the city and is proposing to induct more such buses with a view to gradually phasing out the blueline buses and improving the city transport system.
