Pace of NH construction higher this year: Nitin Gadkari

The ministry of road transport and highways has constructed 8,330 km national highways (NHs) during current financial year up to the month of February 2025 and achieved about 80% of its construction target of 10,421 km set for the current financial year, as compared to 9,088 km constructed during the last financial year 2023-24, road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari said in response to a question in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. “Therefore, vis-à-vis the target, the pace of construction is higher this year,” he said, adding that the government is making all efforts to maximise the pace of construction and achieve the construction target.
